Adoption Pros is a joint endeavor of three organizations with similar goals of assisting the adoptive community in various ways. These organizations are: International Adoption Association, Inc., Slavic Humanitarian Association, Inc., and International Business Link, Ltd.

International Adoption Association, Inc. is a Michigan non-profit organization licensed as a child placing agency under the name of Adoption Pros. In 2005 we marked our 10 year anniversary! Hundreds of children have been assisted since we opened our doors. As a child placing agency, we are licensed to assist Michigan residents with direct consent adoptions, home studies, and post-placing supervision services. The agency also assists families from other states with international adoptions from all listed countries.

Slavic Humanitarian Association, Inc., a Michigan charitable non-profit 501(c) (3) organization was organized in 1996 with the purpose of providing humanitarian aid to orphanages in Eastern Europe and former Soviet block countries. Funds were donated by adoptive families who wanted to help orphanages in Belarus, Russian Siberia, and Ukraine. Slavic Humanitarian association hosted several groups of specialists from Belarus and Russian Ministries of Education, hospitals, and schools who came to Michigan to learn how the child-protective services operate here. This organization was also an official sponsor of the Children of Russia Program organized by the Ministry of Education in Moscow.

International Business Link, Ltd., organized in 1991 as a translation service, assists adoptive parents from all over the world with translations of adoption related papers into and from Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Spanish, and other languages. This organization also “links” traveling families with foreign travel agents, coordinators, tour guides, translators, etc. who provide various services for families staying abroad when finalizing their adoptions. Such services may include meeting on arrival, assisting with changing planes, booking local flights, making reservations, calling for a cab, translating in a restaurant or court, assisting with telephone calls, escorting to the Embassy, interpreting at official meetings, etc.
