If you chose Adoption Pros for your domestic adoption after you have familiarized with our policies, procedures, fees and services, fill out and mail our Application form along with a non-refundable application fee of $100. Based on your application, Adoption Pros will open your file and mail you our Domestic Program Information Packet.

Receiving Information Kit…

Adoption Pros Domestic Information Kit consists of two parts: Family Profile Packet and Home Study Application Packet.

Family Profile Packet is a multi page guide in the form of samples, which you may use for creating your unique profile to be shown to birth mothers. Home Study Application Packet consists of detailed description of the home study process, Home Study Application Form, and the fee schedule.

Upon receipt of your Family Profile with the $200 profile fee, Adoption Pros specialist will review your information, provide suggestions, make corrections if needed, and email the profile back to you for your final approval. The approved profile will be shown to pregnant women as part of the matching process.

Upon receive of your Home Study Application with $500 home study application fee, Adoption Pros will mail you the Home Study Packet 2 and initiate criminal and child abuse background check on each adult member of your household as required by the State of Michigan. This stage of your adoption process will end as soon as the home study approval is received. It will formally move you to the next stage…

Matching with birth mother…

After you completed two previous stages, and the paperwork has been reviewed to both our and your satisfaction, you will be provided with the Domestic Placement Agreement. It’s a formal contact between you and Adoption Pros for adoption services. It outlines our services and discloses fees for each stage of the process. The Agreement requires your signatures to be witnessed by a notary public. Send the Agreement with $2500 acceptance fee to Adoption Pros. No other fees are collected by Adoption Pros until you are matched with a birth mother. You are now in a waiting pool! Your profile will be presented to all birth mothers who contact Adoption Pros and fit your description. The waiting period varies for each situation and depends on many factors. Adoption Pros will encourage you to actively get involved in networking to increase your chances of success. If you find your own birth mother, who agrees to work with you through Adoption Pros, your adoption will be processed as a designated adoption.

Once you have been matched with a birth mother, your profile won't be shown any longer to other birth mothers. You will be working with this birth mother and Adoption Pros specialist until the child is born. Physical custody of the baby will be transferred to you after the baby is born. Termination of parental rights paperwork will be filed with a Michigan court within 48 hours.

Finalizing your adoption…

Once birth parents rights are terminated, Adoption Pros will file Adoption Petition with a Michigan court and conduct two post-placement visits that are three months apart. Your adoption is finalized approximately 6 months after the child is born.
