Initiate your home study with a licensed adoption agency in your area. Your home study agency may handle your international adoption as well. In many cases, your home study agency and your international agency are two different agencies. Adoption Pros is licensed to provide home study services to Michigan residents. Submit form I-600A to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. If you are a United States citizen, living in the United States or abroad, download the required forms from the US CIS web site or call 1-800-870-3676 to order I-600 packet.

Start working on your international dossier under the guidelines provided by your international agency. Each country has different requirements for the dossier documents. Adoption Pros will guide you through this process by providing a country specific Dossier Packet. To expedite the overall adoption process, start your dossier documents collection while your home study is being completed by your home study agency. We advise to initiate Steps 1, 2, and 3 simultaneously.

You will be matched with the child by foreign officials or attorney based on the home study recommendation and your application. This usually happens after you submit your international dossier abroad. We recommend that you discuss the medical information on the referred child with medical professionals, relatives, and friends. Adoption is finalized abroad in a foreign court. Your personal presence during the matching process and court hearing is mandatory for most countries. The child will be granted a US visa after the court issues Adoption Decree.
